In France for transnational educational meeting of Erasmus +

In the west coastal side of Europe, in the coast of  the Atlantic Ocean and especially in the estuaries of the river Loire in France the first transnational educational meeting from the schools – partners of six countries which participate in the biennium 2021-23 at the implementation of the European Program Erasmus+ through the project: “SmARTourism” took place.

French High school “Lycee Professionnel “Guerande-O.Guichard” in Guérande, region Pays de la Loire, an area with lots of castles which through the architectural and rich history represents the ideals of French Renaissance was the host.

The purpose of the visit was the acquaintance of the coordinators and teachers who participate in the Program - from France, Greece, Italy, Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey  - the planning of the activities which are going to take place until the end of the running school year and of course the determination and the preparation of the meetings and the online courses.

During the visit, teachers exchanged ideas for the implementation of the program and had the opportunity to become familiar with the French educational system.

Furthermore, teachers were guided  in the surrounding area and visited the castles of Loire, Saint Nazaire where the biggest post of France in Atlantic and the cosmopolitan touristic resort of La Baule is located.

The implementation of the project SmARTourism aims at the designation of the contribution of tourism in the development of our places and at the boost of the students’ interest for tourism. This procedure will give the chance to the students to understand how tourism works. Moreover, through the visits at the schools of each country, they will meet young people with different nationalities and cultures and by becoming familiar with their educational systems, they will improve their language skills in English, and they will develop their critical thinking through the dialogue, the collaboration and the use of technology.

Students from the Vocational High School of Tourism Will Create “Six Digital Tours Around Europe” Under an Erasmus+ Project

During the current year, the Vocational High School of Tourism took part in an European project together with its partners from France, Italy, Turkey, Greece and Serbia. The participants in the project set themselves the ambitious goal to support the local business in their cities by studying the consequences of the Covid pandemic and create materials for the online training in similar crisis moments.

Partners held two educational meetings. The first meeting, which was held in Veliko Tarnovo, prepared students to create common digital tools, and the second, held in the city of Pescara, Italy, trained them in marketing and online promotion. After these trainings, students will use the acquired practical skills and knowledge to create their products – documentary movies for local attractions, entertainment, resorts and cuisine as well as various advertising movies. The goal here is two-fold. On the one hand, the 6 partner cities will be promoted, and on the other hand, a useful marketing tool will be created for the communities of the partner organizations.

During the first project year, 4 partner meetings took place – in France, Bulgaria, Italy and Greece. 120 students were trained. Four student exchanges are in store for the next school year, namely in Turkey, Greece, Serbia and France. 20 students from the Tarnovo school will participate. At these meetings, students will develop common collections of materials and prepare their joint product "Six Digital Tours Around Europe".
